Goth makeup is generally dark. People tend to wear dark lipstick and eyeliner. This can be done by both females and males. The makeup is also stressed to ensure that it is easily noticeable. Tattoos can also be added to make their looks complete. They also use dark nail polish. They maintain long nails most of the times. Their hair is also dyed black. These make it easy to identify people who embrace the goth culture. People can also differentiate gothic people from those just putting on black makeup.

People who embrace the goth culture also have specific types of jewelry. The jewelry used mostly consist of oxidized silver to complement their dark look. The jewelry also hangs loosely. Long chains are also used. There are those who prefer not to have jewelry. White powder is also applied on their faces most times. They can also have black gloves on. They ensure that they have clothing that makes it possible for them to adjust to different weather conditions. This enables them to easily adjust to different places.

For a long time, people have embraced the goth culture. There are communities that associate it with mourning. It is thus worn during funerals. It is however most of the times complemented by other types of fashion. As a result of interaction with different cultures and lapse of time, the gothic culture has had many changes. This has led to loss of uniqueness and originality. Some people have however remained true to it. Many people can easily embrace the goth culture. They only need to have a sense of dark things.
